So we started out our adventure on March 7 at Topsail Sound RV park to visit Mike’s mom for a week. Our plan was to visit and give our camper a quick run to make sure we had everything we needed in place. We were supposed to head out west from there. During that week though our first event was cancelled so we added time to our stay. Then the rest of the events out west got cancelled or postponed, so currently we are still at the coast until well really who knows when.

Getting quarantined at the coast isn’t a bad thing for me. We are at the RV park for the most part but my mother in law has a house over on the island on the third row. We have traveled to her beach house two different times for a short stay and a change of scenery. I LOVE the ocean, I could sit and stare at it all day long. I always wonder when I am sitting or walking on the beach how someone could look at the ocean and how vast it is and not believe in a God bigger than the ocean itself. Walking and sitting on the beach brings peace to my soul. I love to walk or just sit and pray. It is such a calming experience for me. Mike isn’t a fan of the beach, he doesn’t like all the sand rightly so, it gets everywhere. But for me there really isn’t anywhere I would rather have gotten stuck during this unknown time of our lives.

I am so glad my boys and dogs love the beach as much as I do. During the summers as a little girl I would travel with my mom and sister down to Oak Island, occasionally my dad would go when he didn’t have to work . My grandpa had a trailer down there that had an added bunk room. The bunk room could sleep 11 people in it. Huge right! And no privacy because basically everyone was in one room sleeping. But none the less it was a place for us to go and enjoy the beach. I am sure as a little girl I took it for granted that we got to go to the beach so much during the summer, however as I have gotten older and had children I realize just how blessed I was and am. Every summer the boys and I have gone to the beach with my mom or mother in law and stay for extended times. I make sure to remind the boys just how blessed we are. I no longer take for granted that we have a place to go during the summer and I want my boys to know that they are blessed because if it wasn’t for family these vacations wouldn’t be possible.

So anyways, all of this to say I will enjoy this quarantine time at one of the places I love the most. Like my pastor said this past Sunday, “We don’t know what the future holds, but I do know who holds my future.” And friends let me just tell you, I do know who holds my future and as bad as it may seem right now I can rest in the arms of my Lord and know that He has a plan in all of this and everything is going to be ok!!!
