Introducing Morrisons Outdoor Adventures
Faith. Family. Adventure.
Our Mission
To reconnect families, groups, and individuals through the outdoors.
At Morrison’s Outdoor Adventures, we believe the outdoors has a unique way of bringing people together. Away from the distractions of everyday life, conversations become deeper, confidence begins to grow, and memories are created that last a lifetime. Whether you’re gathering around a campfire, learning a new off-road skill, or exploring a scenic trail, every adventure is an opportunity to strengthen relationships and experience the beauty of God’s creation.
Our mission goes beyond teaching off-road driving and vehicle recovery. We are passionate about equipping people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to explore safely while inspiring a lifelong appreciation for responsible outdoor recreation. Through faith, family, and adventure, we strive to create experiences that encourage connection, build confidence, and leave every person better prepared for the journeys ahead.
Meet Mike
For Mike Morrison, the outdoors has always been more than a place to visit—it has been a way of life. From an early age, he developed a deep appreciation for hard work, nature, and the satisfaction that comes from being outside. Growing up, Mike spent countless hours outdoors and began his career working alongside his father in the landscaping business. Those years taught him the value of perseverance, problem-solving, and respecting the land, while laying the foundation for the passion that would eventually shape his future.
In 2011, Mike’s journey took a new direction when he met renowned off-road instructor Scott Fields and began training at the Uwharrie National Forest in North Carolina. What started as an opportunity to learn quickly grew into a passion for off-road driving, vehicle recovery, and outdoor education. Uwharrie became more than a place to wheel—it became a classroom where Mike developed the technical skills, confidence, and leadership that would eventually lead him to become an instructor himself.
As Mike’s experience grew, so did his desire to teach others. He discovered that one of the most rewarding parts of off-roading wasn’t simply overcoming obstacles on the trail, but helping others build the knowledge and confidence to overcome them as well. Whether working with first-time drivers or experienced enthusiasts, Mike believes every person deserves patient instruction, hands-on learning, and the confidence to enjoy the outdoors safely and responsibly.
Over the years, Mike’s expertise has earned him opportunities to train a wide range of organizations, including military personnel, commercial fleets, utility companies, and recreational groups. His experience includes working with Special Forces, Navy SEALs, Army Rangers, Duke Energy, and many other organizations that demand professional instruction, sound judgment, and real-world problem-solving skills. These experiences have strengthened his ability to teach people from all backgrounds while emphasizing safety, teamwork, and practical application.
Mike is a certified instructor through the International 4 Wheel Drive Trainers Association (I4WDTA) and is a Master Tread Trainer with Tread Lightly!, reflecting his commitment to both professional instruction and responsible stewardship of the outdoors. He continually pursues opportunities to grow his knowledge so he can provide the highest level of training and education to every student.
While Mike is proud of his certifications and professional accomplishments, his greatest passion is helping others discover what the outdoors has to offer. He believes that off-roading is about far more than driving a capable vehicle—it is about building confidence, solving problems, creating lifelong memories, and sharing meaningful experiences with family and friends. Every class is designed to give participants hands-on experience, practical skills, and the confidence to continue exploring long after the training is over.
Mike’s philosophy is simple: teach with patience, lead by example, prioritize safety, respect the land, and always leave people more confident than when they arrived. Through Morrison’s Outdoor Adventures, he hopes to inspire others to step outside their comfort zones, experience God’s incredible creation, and discover that the greatest adventures are often the ones that bring people closer together.
For Sarah Morrison, the greatest adventures aren’t measured by the miles traveled—they’re measured by the memories made along the way. With a heart for serving others and a passion for helping families grow closer together, Sarah brings warmth, encouragement, and a unique perspective to every adventure at Morrison’s Outdoor Adventures.
Before embracing a life centered around outdoor adventure, Sarah dedicated 12 years to serving as an Exceptional Children (EC) teacher in a public separate school setting. Throughout her teaching career, she worked with students who required individualized support, developing the patience, compassion, and adaptability that continue to shape the way she connects with people today. She understands that everyone learns differently and believes that encouragement, understanding, and a positive attitude can help anyone overcome challenges.
As Mike’s passion for off-roading continued to grow, Sarah began joining him and their boys on trips to Uwharrie National Forest. What started as occasional family outings soon became some of their most treasured moments together. Away from the distractions of everyday life, they found that time spent exploring trails, gathering around campfires, and experiencing God’s creation strengthened their relationships in ways they had never imagined.
During those years, Mike frequently traveled for training and extended work assignments, often spending long periods away from home. While those opportunities were important, the time apart made the family realize how valuable it was to experience life together. They made the life-changing decision to leave behind the traditional routine, homeschool their two boys, and begin traveling full-time in their travel trailer. Alongside their faithful Labrador Retrievers, Loki and River, they embraced a lifestyle built around faith, family, learning, and adventure.
Those experiences became the inspiration for Morrison’s Outdoor Adventures. Sarah saw firsthand how the outdoors could reconnect families, build confidence, and create lasting memories, and she wanted to help others experience those same blessings. Today, she plays an important role in welcoming guests, supporting training events, planning adventures, and creating an environment where everyone feels encouraged and included—whether they are seasoned off-road enthusiasts or stepping onto a trail for the very first time.
More than anything, Sarah hopes every family who joins Morrison’s Outdoor Adventures leaves with more than new skills. She hopes they leave with stronger relationships, greater confidence, unforgettable memories, and a deeper appreciation for the beauty of God’s creation. She believes that some of life’s greatest lessons are learned outside, where faith is strengthened, distractions fade away, and families have the opportunity to truly reconnect with one another.
Sarah’s philosophy is simple: life is best lived together. When families step away from the busyness of everyday life and spend time exploring God’s creation, they discover not only the beauty of the outdoors, but also the joy of being fully present with the people they love most.

Our Family
Morrison’s Outdoor Adventures is more than a business—it’s our family’s way of life. Every trail we explore, every campsite we visit, and every adventure we share has helped shape who we are and why we’re passionate about helping others experience the outdoors together.
Our family includes the four of us—Mike, Sarah, and our two incredible boys—along with our two Labrador Retrievers, Loki and River, who are always eager for the next adventure. Whether we’re exploring mountain trails, relaxing around a campfire, discovering hidden scenic overlooks, or simply enjoying a quiet evening beneath the stars, some of our greatest memories have been made outdoors.
Several years ago, we made the decision to leave behind a more traditional lifestyle and embrace a life focused on faith, family, and adventure. Today, we homeschool our boys while traveling and living in our RV, allowing us to learn from the world around us and experience God’s creation in ways we never imagined. Every destination becomes a classroom, every trail teaches a new lesson, and every adventure creates opportunities to grow together as a family.
Living this lifestyle has taught us that the outdoors offers so much more than beautiful scenery. It provides space to slow down, disconnect from the distractions of everyday life, and reconnect with the people who matter most. Around a campfire, conversations become deeper. On the trail, confidence grows. Through shared challenges, families become stronger. These are the moments that have transformed our own lives and inspired us to create Morrison’s Outdoor Adventures.
When you join us, you’re not simply signing up for an off-road class or guided adventure—you’re becoming part of a community that believes in building confidence, creating lasting memories, and enjoying God’s creation together. Our hope is that every family, every group of friends, and every individual leaves with not only new skills but also stories they’ll be sharing around their own campfires for years to come.
For us, adventure isn’t just about where the trail leads—it’s about who you’re sharing the journey with.
Why We Started Morrison’s Outdoor Adventures
Morrison’s Outdoor Adventures was born from our own family’s journey.
For years, we experienced the demands of busy schedules, long work trips, and the constant distractions that seem to pull families in different directions. Like so many others, we found ourselves searching for more meaningful time together. We discovered that every time we stepped away from the busyness of everyday life and immersed ourselves in the outdoors, something incredible happened. We laughed more. We talked more. We learned from one another. We slowed down long enough to truly enjoy each other’s company and created memories that no screen, television, or device could ever replace.
As we explored trails, gathered around campfires, and experienced God’s creation together, we realized that the outdoors wasn’t just a destination—it was a place where our family grew stronger. It became a classroom where confidence was built, character was shaped, and lifelong memories were made.
That realization changed the course of our lives.
We made the decision to embrace a lifestyle centered on faith, family, and adventure, and from that decision, Morrison’s Outdoor Adventures was born. Our desire wasn’t simply to teach people how to drive off-road or recover a vehicle. We wanted to create opportunities for families, friends, and individuals to reconnect with one another while discovering the confidence and freedom that comes from exploring the outdoors together.
Today, every class we teach, every trail we explore, and every adventure we lead is rooted in that same purpose. We hope that when you leave one of our experiences, you’ll take home more than new skills—you’ll take home unforgettable memories, renewed confidence, stronger relationships, and a deeper appreciation for the incredible world God created for us to enjoy.
Because we believe the greatest adventures aren’t measured by the miles you travel—they’re measured by the moments you share with the people you love.

What Makes Morrison’s Different
Hands-On Learning
We believe the best way to learn is by doing. Every training session is designed to give you real, hands-on experience behind the wheel in a safe and supportive environment. Instead of simply watching demonstrations, you’ll practice essential techniques, ask questions, and gain the confidence that only comes from real-world experience.
Small Class Sizes
Learning is more effective when you receive personal attention. That’s why we keep our class sizes small whenever possible. This allows us to spend more one-on-one time with each participant, answer individual questions, and tailor instruction to different experience levels. Whether you’re brand new to off-roading or looking to refine advanced skills, you’ll never feel like just another number.
Real-World Experience
Our training is built on years of practical experience—not just classroom knowledge. Mike has worked with military personnel, commercial organizations, utility companies, and recreational enthusiasts, giving him the ability to teach techniques that work in real-world situations. Every lesson is based on proven methods that prioritize safety, confidence, and responsible decision-making.
A Family Atmosphere
When you join Morrison’s Outdoor Adventures, you’re more than a participant—you become part of our adventure family. We strive to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable asking questions, trying new skills, and learning at their own pace. We believe some of the best memories are made together, and we love helping families and friends discover the joy of exploring the outdoors side by side.
Personalized Coaching
No two drivers are exactly alike, and neither are our training sessions. We take the time to understand your goals, your experience level, and your vehicle so we can provide coaching that meets your individual needs. Our objective isn’t simply to help you complete a course—it’s to equip you with the confidence and skills you’ll use for years to come.
Faith-Driven Values
Our faith influences everything we do. We believe God created the outdoors to be enjoyed, respected, and shared with others. That belief shapes the way we teach, the way we serve our guests, and the relationships we build along the way. We are committed to treating every person with honesty, integrity, patience, and genuine care while encouraging responsible stewardship of the places we explore.
Continued Support
Our commitment to your success doesn’t end when the class is over. We want you to continue learning, exploring, and growing in confidence long after you leave the trail. Whether you have questions about your vehicle, recovery equipment, future training opportunities, or planning your next adventure, we’re here to support you. We celebrate every milestone and love seeing our students become confident, capable, and responsible members of the off-road community.
More Than a Training Company
At Morrison’s Outdoor Adventures, we don’t simply teach people how to drive off-road—we help them build confidence, strengthen relationships, and experience the beauty of God’s creation. Our goal is that every person leaves with practical skills, lasting memories, and a renewed excitement for the adventures that await.
Because for us, it’s never just about the destination—
it’s about the people you meet, the memories you make, and the journey you share along the way.
Faith & Adventure
At Morrison’s Outdoor Adventures, our faith is the foundation of everything we do. It shapes the way we lead, the way we teach, the way we serve others, and the way we experience the incredible world around us. While off-road training and outdoor adventures are what bring us together, our deeper purpose is to create an environment where people can slow down, reconnect with one another, and appreciate the beauty of God’s creation.
We believe there is something special about stepping away from the noise of everyday life and spending time outdoors. Whether you’re driving a scenic trail, gathering around a campfire, hiking to a breathtaking overlook, or simply enjoying the quiet of the woods, the outdoors has a way of reminding us of God’s creativity, His power, and His presence. It’s in these moments that families reconnect, friendships grow stronger, confidence is built, and lifelong memories are made.
Our faith also guides how we treat every person who joins us on an adventure. We strive to lead with honesty, integrity, humility, patience, and genuine care. Whether you’re a first-time off-roader or an experienced adventurer, you’ll be welcomed, encouraged, and respected. We believe serving others is one of the greatest privileges we’ve been given, and we consider it an honor to help others experience the outdoors with confidence and joy.
As stewards of God’s creation, we are passionate about responsible recreation and protecting the places we have been blessed to enjoy. Through education, safe practices, and respect for the land, we hope to inspire future generations to care for our trails, forests, rivers, and public lands so they can be enjoyed for years to come.
Our mission is simple:
To reconnect families, groups, and individuals through the outdoors.
Everything we do—from teaching safe off-road driving techniques to leading unforgettable adventures—is driven by our desire to help people grow in confidence, strengthen relationships, and experience the peace and wonder that can be found in God’s creation.
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.”
